Author Dan Venberg writes:
My love of God’s creation and what it can teach us is the primary reason for writing this. One of my favorite lessons from the book of Job is in chapter 12, verses 7-9: “But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this?”
It is my hope that this devotional will lead you to cherish and be in awe of the wonders of the natural world God created for his pleasure and ours.
There are 31 devotions, each highlighting a different animal. All are animals found either in Chad or Costa Rica, two of my favorite countries in the world. The information about the animals is in part from my own observation, but mostly thanks to the many researchers out there who have published their findings in books and on the internet for me to glean from. The photographs are my own. The artwork is done by my daughter Silvia.
May these lessons draw you into worship of God, who feeds the birds of the air, clothes the flowers of the field, cares for you and loves you so much more…Ask the Animals indeed!
